Special Scholarship Program for ICU Nurses
The Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care (DACC) and the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) are jointly sponsoring a scholarship program for intensive care nurses. Scholarships are offered for two intensive care nurses at UCMC who intend to complete a master’s degree in an accredited anesthesia program, making them eligible for licensure as certified registered nurse anesthetists.<.p>
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A rating of 4 or higher on the most recent performance review
- Employment at UCMC for a minimum of 12 months
- Acceptance by an accredited anesthesia program for nurses in Chicagoland

How to Apply
Your application & all documents need to be submitted to Theresa Cumming in DACC by no later than Nov. 1st.
To begin the application process for the Nurse Anesthetist Scholarship Program applicants must:
- Complete an application form, (see link provided above for Adobe PDF document)
- Provide three letters of recommendation one from a member of the Critical Care faculty (see FAQs)
- Submit a resume
- A personal narrative describing your reasons for pursuing the CRNA credential. Application, narrative AND letters of recommendation must be received before your application can be considered for the scholarship.
