Supporting Materials

We require several support documents to be included with the ERAS application form. Your application will not be considered complete until we have received all items listed below. We suggest that you use this page as a checklist in completing your application. We will contact you by e-mail through ERAS when your application is complete.

  1. Personal Statement and photo
  2. Medical school dean's letter and transcript
  3. Dean's letters are released on November 1st.
Some schools do not release transcripts prior to November 1st when the dean's letters are released. Should that be the case with your medical school, we will not be able to review your application prior to November 1st.
  4. Copies of your USMLE scores to date These should include your most recent test scores. Applicants can be selected to interview based on their Step 1 score only, and they are not required to take Step 2 before their interview. However, applicants are required to pass Steps 1 and 2 before starting their residency training.
  5. Letters of Recommendation
We require three letters of recommendation.
Deadlines

Applications for the 2012-2013 years will be accepted beginning September 2011 via ERAS. We will accept applications through December 31, 2011. However, based on past years, we suggest that your application be completed by no later than November 1, 2011. Graduates of non-U.S. medical schools are required to have completed 12 months of post-graduate clinical experience in the United States prior to being eligible to begin our anesthesia program. This means that most of our IMG applicants are only eligible for our three-year program. Once you have begun an internship in the United States, we invite you apply to our advanced program.

We review completed applications on a weekly basis. Following the review of your application, we will contact you by e-mail through ERAS. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Theresa Cumming at tc28
